Abstract

Muhammad Indramawan Fajrin, 2023. Analysis of the operation of radar navigation to prevent collisions at sea on MV. NEW DEDICATION (Supervised by Muhammad Syafril Sunusi and Bahrun Abubakar). The purpose of this research is to know the optimality of the radar operation for preventing collisions at sea. This research was did when the writer conducted his sea project on MV. NEW DEDICATION. The source data was gotten directly from the research place by using an observation method, documentation method, and direct interview method with crew on board. The research results show that all deck crew have already understood the functions of keys from the radar, but there are still some of those who have not run or used the navigation tool by the in standard operating procedure that have been set (not optimal) as well as the lack of understanding and low motivation of some officers in carrying out the standar operating procedure.
